Wizkid and Tems were among winners at the 2022 edition of American Music Awards (AMAs).

The ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner clinched the ‘Favourite Afrobeats Artist’ gong ahead of Burna Boy, CKay, Fireboy and Tems.

This is the first time the annual awards will feature an Afrobeats category.

Tems was also named the joint winner of the ‘Favourite Hip Hop Song’ category for her role in Future’s ‘Wait For You’ featuring Drake.

The Nigerian duo also won the ‘Favorite R&B Song’ category for ‘Essence’, their collaborative hit track.

The award ceremony took place on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Taylor Swift was the biggest winner on the night as she snagged six awards including the ‘Artist of the Year’ prize.
