Damini Ogulu, Nigerian Afro-fusion artiste better known as Burna Boy, has won the ‘African Artiste of the Year’ category at the 2019 edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
The award event saw the bigwigs from the continent’s music industry converge at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) situated in the country’s capital city.
Davido; Wizkid; Sauti Sol, a Kenyan Afro-pop band; and Cassper Nyovest, South African rapper, had all been pitched against Burna Boy for the 20th VGMA’s ‘African Artiste of the Year’ prize.
