Twitter, microblogging and social networking service, has revealed its top tweet trends for 2019, with the World Record Egg, ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ making the list.

The report, produced by Twitter Data, a research driven section of the platform, x-rayed notable moments and conversations that got users attention on the social media platform for this year.

Several categories examined including ‘most retweeted tweets worldwide’, ‘most retweeted with comments worldwide’, ‘most discussed categories’ and 2019 top emojis.

The most discussed categories featured ‘top musicians worldwide’, ‘top actors worldwide’, ‘top movies worldwide’, ‘top TV shows worldwide’.

According to Twitter, data for the most discussed category was arrived at by examining the number of people tweeting about the topics considered.

“Quick note on methodology. Instead of ranking by overall tweet volume, we’re ranking by the number of people Tweeting about each topic. We wanted to know what got the most people talking, not just what was the loudest,” it wrote.

The ‘top movies worldwide’ category had ‘Avengers:Endgame’ on top of the chart while ‘Game of Thrones’ emerged top of ‘top TV shows worldwide’ category.
