Fred Amata, Nigerian actor, has announced that Erumena Amata, his elder sister, is set to tie the knot at the age of 60.
The award-winning actor broke the news in a touching post via his Instagram page on Friday.
He also accompanied the post with the wedding invitation letter even as he recalled his sister’s journey to eventually finding a partner.
Amata disclosed that his “big sister” had been ridiculed and tormented because she couldn’t get married, adding that they all gave up at a point.
He went on appreciate God for finally answering his sister’s prayer after years of steadfastness and perseverance.
“The Almighty continues to show his beauty and awesomeness with cause for celebration. My big sister Mena is a testimony of faith,” he wrote.
“Sister Mena grew up in a strict environment of high morality. She would develop to become an example of steadfastness and commitment.
“But morality and the emerging social environment can be challenging for soon her peers, young maidens one after the other all got married.
“Sister Mena finds herself approaching her 40s single unmarried stacked against mountains of seeming impossibilities and ridiculed. You are too old, you can no longer Marry, You are too tall, you will marry a short man. You are too old even if you find a man, You would be older than him.
“Give what God gave you to man oh, before you give it to worms, yes she was ridiculed for her steadfastness and tenacity holding on to her convictions.
“And so it would continue. Year after year from 30s to 40s to fifties… And the ridicule became torment. But she persevered. By the time she turned 60… We had all given up.
“But this Saturday 9th October 2021, we have the sounds of celebration, a covenant with the Almighty kept, and a manifestation of the awesomeness of the most high God.”
The actor’s sister is expected to walk down the aisle with Benjamin Akpoghene-Adaiah, her lover, on Saturday (today).
