The website and mobile app allows users to search, save, own, rent and watch hundreds of Hollywood and Nollywood movies.

According to Kene Okwuosa, GMD of Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne, the streaming platform will provide the latest movies and those that did not make it to the cinemas.

Okwuosa said the view-on-demand platform “is a typical and unique window that has not really existed in this market”.

He said: “What it allows us to do is that when movies are done in the run in the theatrical window, we can dump it immediately online so that our audiences can have access to it.

“Where traditionally you would have found that audiences that are having to wait for months before the movies can get to TV and other syndicated platforms, it allows you a window where you can drop it in real time, right after the theatrical window and it is premium content.”

Okwuosa said the price of streaming movies on myfilmhouse.ng “is very affordable,” noting that it ranges from N400 to N700.

Meanwhile, Filmhouse has also announced that it will organise a film gala in January 2019.

The aim of the gala is to expose upcoming filmmakers to festivals, distributors, and possible funders.

The highlight of the gala will be the showcase of three short films by talented Nigerians who don’t have the platforms to push their projects.
