Femi Kuti, the Nigerian singer, and Made, have teamed up for their first joint show tagged ‘Father & Son: The Experience’.
According to NAN, Funke Kuti, the chief executive officer of FK Management, the company behind the show, announced the collaboration in Lagos on Saturday.
Funke said the event is in response to fans of both singers who have been calling for a joint concert between them.
“It has become a usual feature in recent times to see a feature of Made on a Femi Kuti set while the latter is on tour, and Femi has also featured in all Made’s concerts in and outside the New Afrika Shrine,” she said.
“This concert will be their first co-headlined show since their joint Grammy Nominations.
“A show that seeks to bring to the home of Afrobeat the old and the newly converted followers of Afrobeat.”
Funke said the concert is scheduled to hold at the new Afrika Shrine on June 5, 2022.
Made is the grandson of Fela Kuti, the Afrobeat legend. Femi, on the hand, is the first son of the late music icon.
The pair have continued their impressive run in the music landscape. They were both nominated for the 2022 Grammys for “Legacy+”, their joint album.
