The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says Olufemi Adeyemi, also known as F.Shaw, has chosen to pursue his personal ambitions, hence his decision to leave the anti-graft agency.
Adeyemi, a rapper/lyricist, was last week unveiled as the person behind the Twitter account of the EFCC.
His unveiling quickly went viral among Nigerians on social media, due to the wit, snark, and sarcasm he brought to his job.
In an official statement on his exit, the anti-graft agency expressed joy that Adeyemi was now going after his dreams.
The statement released on Monday said the EFCC would always be home to Adeyemi.
“Olufemi Olukayode Adeyemi worked in the Public Affairs Directorate of the Commission since November 2014, where he exhibited his talent as a consummate professional,” it read.
“Before moving on, he managed the twitter handle of the Commission; @officialEFCC amongst other assignments. Adeyemi harboured personal dreams even before assuming duties at the Commission and he has now decided to fulfill those dreams.
“Like a parent that finds joy in seeing a child grow, we are happy for Adeyemi because the Eagle must be allowed to soar.
“And, like the Eagle that always maintains its nest, Adeyemi’s home remains the EFCC. The world and Twitter have certainly not seen the last of “The Handler”.
F.Shaw, as he’s known on stage, is reportedly working on releasing new music.
