‘Ewuro’, an emotional musical that captures the struggles of women in Nigeria, is set to return for the second straight year.

‘Ewuro’ seeks to address discrimination and violence against women in the Nigerian society.

The play is centered around the abuse women in Nigeria face on a daily basis; from rape to battery to molestation and widow’s funeral rites.

“Following last year’s edition, we’ve decided to make this edition even bigger,” said Tim Godfrey, executive producer.

The play is powered by Republic of Xtreme in partnership with Swift Think Limited and the Lagos state government.

Performing at this year’s edition are Waje, Yaw, Tim Godfrey, Lepacious Bose, Segun Obe, Chinonso Young, Nedu, Micheal Ejoor, Gbolabo Gibbs, Gloria Young, Isaac Geralds, Amaka Iruobe, Chioma, and Xtreme.

‘Ewuro’ will be showing from December 16-18 at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
