Ebenezer Obey, the ace Nigerian singer, has taken to social media to celebrate his 82nd birthday.
In a post via his Instagram page on Wednesday, the ‘Igba La Ye’ hitmaker expressed gratitude to God for “sound health and prosperity”.
The ace singer also accompanied the post with unfading and enduringly fresh pictures of himself.
“Happy 82nd birthday to the legend himself. Thank God for sound health prosperity,” he wrote.

There were recent reports that Obey underwent surgery for prostate enlargement.
Obey ventured into music at a young age as a member of the school band at Methodist Primary School. He quickly rose through the ranks to become the bandleader.
He began his professional career in the mid-1950s after moving to Lagos from Idogo, Ogun state.
After spending six years under the tutelage of Fatai Rolling-Dollar’s band, he formed The International Brothers in 1964, playing highlife and jùjú fusion.
They released ‘Ewa Wo Ohun Oju Ri Laye’, their first studio album, that same year.
The band later morphed into Inter-Reformers in the early 1970s, with a long list of Juju album hits on the West African Decca musical label.
Obey’s musical strengths lie in weaving intricate Yoruba axioms into dance-floor compositions.
He is renowned for the spiritual themes in his music and has since the early 1990s retired into Nigerian gospel music ministry.
In 1963, Ebenezer tied the knot with Juliana Onifade, who passed away in August 2011. They have four children together.
Obey is widely regarded as one of the greatest Nigerian musicians.
