Young Jonn, the music producer turned singer, has come through with a new single titled ‘Currency’.
The ‘Xtra Cool’ singer announced the release of the song on Wednesday across all streaming platforms. He also featured Olamide in the song.
In ‘Currency’, Olamide and Young Jonn showcase their compatibility as they sing in Yoruba and English.
The singers also croon about real-life circumstances with the catchphrase: “If you have a problem, call God; oh, if you have a business, holla at me.”
“Everybody wanna take but nobody wanna give, omo we living inna jungle, oh no If you gat a problem call God o, If you get business holla me,” the lyrics read.
The song is produced by Killertunes and will serve as an insight into Young Jonn’s forthcoming debut album, to be released under Chocolate City Music.
It also follows his recent EP ‘Love is Not Enough (L.I.N.E.).’
In August 2022, Young Jonn spoke about how he met Olamide and their relationship.
“I came to Lagos in 2011/2102. Getting to Lagos, I found myself in the studio and the switch away from football happened,” he said.
“My first mainstream production was with ‘Story For The Gods’ by Olamide way back in 2014.
“YBNL is family to me. I was always in the studio. Then we started working. Then it became a family thing.
“We never really put a pen to paper. There was nothing contractual. I was so into YBNL and they did a lot for me.”
