Sade Adu, a Nigerian-British soul singer, has made good her promise to release ‘This Far’, her much-awaited six-album vinyl set, on October 9.
Sade announced the release of the project in a post on her social media page on Friday.
In the post, the award-winning songwriter cum actress also highlighted the basic features of the newly-released vinyl set.
“Released today. ‘This Far’. The stunning boxset containing Sade’s six studio albums to date. Half-speed remastered on heavyweight vinyl. Recreated in original packaging,” she wrote on Twitter.
The body of work features ‘Diamomd Life’, her 1984 debut album, ‘Promise’, which was released in 1985, and ‘Stronger Than Pride’, her 1988 project.
Others are ‘Love Delux’ (1992), ‘Lovers Rock’ (2000) and ‘Soldier Of Love’ (2010).
‘This Far’ is the first complete collection of Sade’s studio work ever released.
Sade had earlier enlisted other members of her band including Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Spencer Denman in remastering the albums at the Abbey Road Studios in London.
Among others who worked on the project include Miles Showell, an engineer, and Mike Pela, the band’s long-time co-producer.
Born Helen Folasade Adu, the singer has continued to pull the strings with several beautiful projects and has won numerous awards.
