‘I No Be God,’ released on Friday, is a thoughtful and introspective track that explores the complexities of love, responsibility, and personal limitations.

The lyrics convey a sense of humility and vulnerability, as Ladipoe acknowledges that despite his deep care and commitment to his partner, he can’t solve all problems or bear all burdens.

The rapper is also mindful of his own struggles and the weight he carries, cautioning that “my shoulder’s for you, but the weight on it alone isn’t mine.”

Ladipoe, however, reassures his partner that he’ll always be present in times of need, offering a supportive shoulder to lean on.

“I no be God I be somebody’s son /  I no fit to answer whenever you call me / Only because I am in love / I get shoulder whenever you worry / I don’t care / When nobody dey / Me I go dey cause you want me,” the lyrics read in part.

Ladipoe, born Ladipo Eso, got signed to Mavin Records in 2017, becoming the first rapper signed to the label.

Since then, he has become a household name in the Nigerian music industry. He has also been recognised for his talent.

In 2021, he was nominated for the ‘Best International Flow’ category at BET Hip Hop Awards but lost to Little Simz, the British rapper.
