Johnny Drille, the Nigerian singer, has put out his latest single titled ‘Lover’.
The music star announced the release of the song featuring Phyno, the indigenous rapper, on Wednesday.
‘Lover’ is a song off Drille’s forthcoming extended play (EP) titled ‘Home’.
In the less than 3-minute track, Drille confesses his undying love for a girl while begging her to date him.
Phyno also makes a case for his feeling to a lover in Igbo language.
“Yeah/ You see this special kinda feeling/ Melu m m cho ka ibata nye my life a meaning/ Zobulu ezo but kita everything revealing/ Ina gbam ala blow my head up to the ceiling/ Nwa m na catch feeling/ Osokwam Dili busy/ Ikponaro m, I go make everything easy/ Words may be misleading but ur love is what I’m needing/ Umu na enye m obi but your heart is what I’m keeping,” Phyno raps in Igbo.
Drille also revealed that ‘Home’, his 6-track project, will be released on October 28.
The Edo-born singer began his musical career in church. He was one of the contestants in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa in 2013.
Since the release of his debut single ‘Wait For Me’ in 2015, he has continued to pull the weights of fame in the Nigerian music industry.
Phyno, on the other hand, has established himself as a household name in the Nigerian music industry since 2010.
