Davido, the Afrobeats star, has come through with a new song titled ‘Funds’.
In the track released on Friday, the ‘Assurance’ hitmaker enlisted the musical experience of rapper Odumodublvck and singer Chike.
‘Funds’ is believed to be part of Davido’s forthcoming album ‘5IVE’.
The project sees Davido sampling Brenda Fassie’s 1997 South African song ‘Vuli Ndlela’.
In the track, the artistes croon about their intentions to spend their funds on a mystery lady recklessly.
“Mismanage my funds on you/ All I really wanna do is/ I’ll mismanage my funds/ They wanna stop me/ Mismanage my funds on you/ All I wanna do is/ Mismanage my funds on you/ All I really wanna do is/ I’ll Mismanage my funds/ They wanna stop me/ Mismanage my funds on you,” they sing.
In an Instagram post, Davido said ‘Funds’ is dedicated to “everyone chasing their dreams”.
The 32-year-old also revealed that his upcoming album is “my story, my truth and my growth”.
“My people. The journey continues in 2025 with my new album ‘5IVE’. This is straight from the heart — my story, my truth and my growth,” he wrote.
“We are not waiting though. Tonight midnight I am dropping a single ‘Funds’ with Odumodublvck and Chike.
“This one is for the dreamers, the go getters and everyone chasing what’s theirs. Thank you for riding with me. Let’s make history again.”
