Asake, the fast-rising Nigerian singer, has come through with a new single titled ‘Peace Be Unto You’.

The singer announced the release of the song, accompanied by the video, on Thursday.

The less than three-minute track opens with the voice of a now-viral LASTMA officer shouting “Help me, help me, he dey carry me go where I no know.”

The ‘Sungba’ crooner includes an Arabic phrase in the witty lyrics which blend with the fast-paced beat.

“As-salaam Alaykum/ I get many many disciple/Mo taka oshi danu/ Oluwa shower me your blessings times two/ Odejowo kodahun/ In every situation make I no lose/ Emi o shakomo Olohun,” he sings.

The music video — produced by TG Omori — opens with Asake racing a power bike on a highway, while some kids hail him.

Born Ahmed Ololade, Asake came into the limelight after the release of his hit song ‘Lady’ in 2020.

He is currently signed to YBNL. He had recently recounted how he begged Olamide, the Nigerian rapper, for two years to join his music label.
