The event, which will hold on Monday at Radisson Hotels at Ikeja, Lagos, is intended for young women between the ages of 18 and 35 interested in a career in music and other adjacent fields to the music business.

The workshop is powered by the Music in Africa Live project, in partnership with the Music in Africa Foundation (MIAF) and Kontentt Live Limited.

In a statement shared with TheCable, Opeyemi Balogun, the project manager, said the workshop aims to shine the spotlight on women and illuminate several other behind-the-scenes paths available to them in the music industry.

“We’re choosing to focus on Women in the Nigerian Music Business because we recognise that women ‘behind the scenes in the industry don’t get adequate recognition and because we believe in equality and the capability of women in whatever field they choose to build their paths,” he said.

Dj Lambo will be talking about performance and music business while Moyosore Shomade will lecture on backstage and tour management.

Other speakers include Omolola Oyedele, who will tackle contract negotiation while Yemisi Falaye will handle artiste management.
