Dax Shepard, American actor, and Kristen Bell, his celebrity wife, have waived April rent for tenants in their Los Angeles properties to help them during the coronavirus crisis.

According to TMZ, Dax’s sister, manager of Pringus Property LLC, the company in charge of the couple’s residential buildings — broke the news to the tenants through an email.

“Kristen and Dax are waiving the April rent for the buildings in L.A. they own,” the email read.

The news outlet also reported that the “message expressed empathy and encouragement, and promised to work with residents going forward as best as possible as everyone learns to adjust to the public health crisis.”

The move, it was gathered, is to lessen the financial burden of the tenants who are mostly without jobs based on a “stay at home” order holding sway in California.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought about unemployment with many people cut off from their works due to restriction of movements across several countries.

Nigeria — presently with 46 confirmed cases of the pandemic — has also announced several measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Some of these include prohibition of religious and social gatherings while a possible lockdown is being considered.

The lovebirds who tied the knot in 2013 join other celebrities pushing for rent waiver and cut across the world.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how Sodiq Yusuf, a Nigerian rapper better known as CDQ, also canvassed rent cuts by property owners to help their tenants amid the economic burden of the coronavirus outbreak.
