Davido, the singer, says he initially recorded about 62 songs for ‘Timeless’, his latest album.
In an interview with US-based radio station HOT 97 FM, Davido described ‘Timeless’ as his miracle album.
The music star also said he amassed 62 tracks for the project, although he ended up releasing only 17 of them.
“I call this my miracle album because we didn’t plan much stuff. I was just really recording,” he said.
“I recorded about 62 songs for this album. In the beginning, I was really like in the Amapiano space.
“The record was just natural. It wasn’t like I sat down to say I have to have four Amapiano jams, everything just came naturally.
“What was special I feel was the arrangement of the songs on the album, the sequence of picking the pieces.
“With the last album, I spent so much just on nonsense, not only on the features but trying to shoot videos. I probably spent $2 million, that’s with everything.
“I haven’t even spent $300k on this album and I’ve made more in three days.”
‘Timeless’, released on March 31, is Divido’s fourth studio album.
His three other bodies of work are ‘OBO’ (2012), ‘A Good Time’ (2019), and ‘A Better Time‘ (2020).
Davido also recently signed two new artistes to DMW, his record label.
