Davido, the Afrobeats star, has expressed gratitude to the federal government for conferring him with national honour.
Last Sunday, a total of 339 persons were nominated by the federal government to receive national honours.
Davido, Victor Osimhen, and Kunle Afolayan were among the entertainers enlisted as recipients of the awards.
The Afrobeats star was awarded the Officer Of The Order of The Niger (OON).
The OON is one of the highest civilian awards in Nigeria which recognises outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals in various fields.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the megastar said he “is honoured to have received the national honour”.
Davido said he has always wanted to use his fame to make Nigeria proud.
The singer added that “I do not take any of this for granted.”
“Honored to hear the news that I have been conferred with an OON ( Officer of the Order of The Niger) by the Federal Government,” he wrote.
“I am grateful for this recognition and honour. It has always been my mission to use my platform to showcase our country- the passion, the resilience, the joy, the culture and of course the struggles of our people.
“I do not take any of this for granted. We have one Nigeria and we will continue to do whatever we must to make it better!
“Thank you all for being an this journey with me. So help us God.
