The mandatory three-week National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) orientation exercise is not holding Davido back as he has arrived in Boston, US, for his tour.
The ‘FIA’ singer had caused a stir at the Lagos state NYSC orientation camp in Iyana Ipaja when he showed up for registration.
On Thursday, the artiste, born David Adeleke, returned to the camp for the swearing-in ceremony.
In a post on his Instagram page on Friday, he announced the commencement of his US tour.
“Boston US! House of Blues tonite!! Sold out! Let’s get litty! 🎥🚧🔥🌍 Made in America festival!” he wrote.
The NYSC programme is mandatory for all graduates to qualify for gainful employment in Nigeria.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, the 2015 graduate of music from Babcock University had promised to play an active part in camp activities.
“I am a youth and I am delighted to serve my fatherland,” he said.
“NYSC is also a leadership development programme and since I will not remain a youth forever, I have to start preparing myself for the future.”
He is expected to headline a concert at the O2 Arena, UK.
