Cubana Chief Priest, the nightlife promoter, has finally broken silence on his arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Reports had surfaced on Saturday night that the socialite, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, was arrested by the commission over allegations of tax fraud.
He was said to have been apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Wednesday.
The socialite was last seen publicly on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, during a FIFA World Cup playoff match between Ghana and Nigeria.
His days-long hiatus on Instagram had elicited concerns among fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
But the entrepreneur returned to social media on Monday night — shortly after Davido announced that he had been released from EFCC custody.
In one of the posts on his Instagram page, the socialite addressed his recent ordeal, saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
“@officialefcc Tested. Ok Thank you Fam. I will never forget. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Make una resend all my birthday wishes,” he wrote.
The EFCC has so far kept mum on his arrest and eventual release.
On Monday, TheCable Lifestyle had contacted Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson but he declined to comment on the matter.
He, however, promised to revert later.
“I can’t address that now. I’ll call you back,” he had said.
