According to PUNCH, the singer, whose real name is Iledare Olajuwonlo James, was arrested on Monday by personnel attached to the Dolphin Estate division of the Lagos police command.

It is understood that Jaywon was driving to an undisclosed destination at around 11 pm when policemen monitoring compliance with the curfew intercepted him and took him into custody.

The 33-year-old would later be brought before the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, where he was charged before a mobile court after his statement had been taken.

It was gathered that Jaywon pleaded guilty during the proceeding on Tuesday after which the court ordered him to pay a fine of N10,000 while being sentenced to community service for 30 minutes.

Bala Elkana, a spokesperson of the Lagos police, confirmed to TheCable Lifestyle that there were multiple arrests in the past days. He, however, stated that the reports received by him didn’t disclose the identify of the offenders.

Jaywon’s case comes after Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress, was arrested and arraigned for flouting the state’s social distancing directive with a house party.
