Jason Njoku, CEO of IrokoTV, says he is on oxygen support after testing positive for COVID-19.

He broke the news on Wednesday via Twitter after sharing a picture of himself plugged onto a ventilator.

“Thanks all for your wishes. The kids all tested negative so they’re fine. Mrs. Mary Njoku other than minor fatigue is fine. Me? This thing beat me up at home for a week,” the father of three wrote.

“Since Monday I’ve been hospitalized with hardcore fever & need oxygen to support my breathing. It will pass.”

Last week, Njoku had revealed that he and his wife had undergone a test for COVID-19, which came out positive.

He had similarly shared a photo of a medical attendant inserting a swab down his throat, writing: “My enemies are hard at work in 2020. Mrs. Njoku and I tested positive for Covid19.

“I’m not feeling great but Mary is well. Literally no idea how I caught it.  But we shall see this pass too.”

Njoku had launched IrokoTV in 2011. The platform web-based provides paid-for Nigerian films on demand.

Speaking on how he juggles family with building his brand during an interview with TheCable Lifestyle, Njoku had said: “When my children were much younger, I was living on a plane, traveling across so many time zones.

“I missed them, and Mrs. Njoku, very much. I travel a lot less now, so I would say my favourite time of day is when I get home from work and I hear what they’ve done at nursery, we play and laugh and have dinner together.”
