Cobhams released ‘Lady Fiona’, his first single of the year featuring Sauti Sol, the Kenyan music band, on January 19.

Speaking about ‘Lady Fiona’, the 43-year-old singer said he wrote the song from “a place of love”.

“Lady Fiona is for the lovers. It’s a love song, it’s a beauty song,” he said.

“I think people should just listen to it and ingest it and digest it and love it like I love it. It was made from a place of love. You will see and hear more of it.”

Cobhams spoke at the launch of The Reach, one of the world’s oldest whiskies, which was held in Lagos last weekend.

Prominent figures who attended the event include Mai Atafo, Kelechi Amadi-Obi, and Audu Maikori.

Cobhams serenaded guests with a rendition of his song ‘New Beginning’ and then delivered a heart-tugging performance of ‘Angels All Around.’

Born on January 6, 1981, the singer has continued to enjoy fame with his creativity as a songwriter/music producer/singer — despite his blindness.

His mastery as a music producer has seen him work with big names in the Nigerian music industry.
