Ckay’s viral TikTok hit ‘Love Nwantiti’ earns him 2022 Brit Awards nomination

CKay has been nominated in the “international song of the year” category of the 2022 Brit Awards.

The Nigerian singer was put up for his hit ‘Love Nwantiti’ ahead of the award event to hold on February 8, 2022, at the O2 Arena in London.

To win, CKay is to compete against The Weeknd, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, and Drake.

Among those also nominated are Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, and Dave, all of whom scored four categories each.

In 2019, following the release of his second EP ‘CKay the First’, ‘Love Nwantiti’ became a major record in Nigeria.

In February 2020, CKay released a remix titled “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah)” featuring Joeboy and Kuami Eugene.

In 2021, it went viral on TikTok and became an international hit, charting across Europe, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. It also reached number 23 in the UK and earned him his first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100.
