Charles Oputa, the Nigerian musician and activist better known as Charly Boy, says he is “tired” of his 45-year-old marriage to Diane, his wife.

The music star shared a cryptic note wherein he reflected on his marital struggles on Tuesday.

In the post, Charly Boy said he is “going back to bachelorhood”, adding that marriage is not easy.

The 72-year-old also quipped that the longer one stays in a marriage, the harder it becomes.

“My People, if I tell una say, after over 45yrs of marriage to my wife dat am going back to bachelorhood, what would you say?” he asked.

“I don talk say dis marriage of a tin just no easy. The longer u stay, the harder it gets. What should I do? I tire oooo.”

It remains to be seen if the musician is serious about getting a divorce or if he is simply trying to get tongues wagging.

Charly Boy and Diane, better known as Lady D, have been married for close to five decades.

In December 2018, the activist revealed why he married his American partner.

“This is not that kind of marriage with fanfare; I am doing it to please my aged mother and meet certain demands of society,” the entertainer had said.

“She has been pleading that we do the right thing, saying this is the woman I have been living with for 40 years.”

In 2020, the musician proposed to Diane over what he claimed to be the “fourth time in 45 years”
