The US rapper, who was nominated for best rap performance, didn’t show up at the award ceremony on Sunday night.

She had taken to her Twitter page to react to the backlash she got from fans who disapproved of her absence at the award ceremony.

Some fans, however, claimed Cardi B had earlier “hyped them up” with her possible appearance at the ceremony. Others attacked her and her kids, hurling insults at the US rap star for not releasing new songs.

In her reaction, Cardi B tweeted: “I’m deleting my Twitter. On God, I hate this f**kin dumb**s fan base.

“You got slow dumba**es dragging my kids all cause y’all thought I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t?

“When the f**k I hinted I was going? Just [f**kin’] stupid I can’t I need to protect myself.”

Cardi B was earlier in the news over a court case after a YouTube channel spread prostitution claims about her.
