The Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim (ESOCS) worldwide has announced plans for the centenary celebration of the church.
The C&S church was established on September 9, 1925, by the late Moses Orimolade Tunolase.
The 100th anniversary will be held on September 9, 2025, with the theme ‘Sustained by God’s Endless Mercies — Lamentations 3:22-23’.
“We shall paint the whole of Nigeria with white garments in exalting and magnifying the great God of St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase,” said David Bob-Manuel, the present Baba Aladura and prelate of the ESOCS.
Bob-Manuel spoke on Saturday during the media launch of the church’s centenary celebration plan.
“The essence of the Centenary Celebration of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church are as follows: To glorify the Almighty God the Father, God the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ l and the Head of Seraph Band, and God the Holy Spirit that guides and directs His Church for establishing this Church through HIS prophet, St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase,” he said.
“To propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the whole world at large.
“To expound on the love and unity in Christ Jesus – John 17:21.
“We are glad to note that the Cherubim and Seraphim Church being the Church of God is found in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria according to His prophecy and has spread to other African Countries, Europe and Asia.”
At the media conference, the church unveiled its plans, logo, theme, and song ahead of its centenary celebration in 2025.
The event was attended by notable Christian leaders including Daniel Okoh, the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Speaking further, Bob-Manuel also offered a heartfelt prayer, seeking divine intervention for Nigeria’s challenges.
“We can only continuously be prayerful and thank God for sustaining us with His great mercies, especially with the economic turmoil and uncertainty. There had been challenges all over the world — insecurity, economic woes and hardship, turbulent, wars and counter wars, pandemic,” he added.
On his part, Okoh called on Nigerian leaders to prioritise truthfulness and justice, ensuring governance serves the greater good.
“In our own time, we must rise with courage and speak truth to power and give guidance to the people in governance,” he said.
“This is so that we can actually have a very happy country where everyone is committed to doing what is right for the generality of the people and for the interests of the poor masses.”
