‘Yarn as you like’ | ‘You’re arrogant’ — Burna Boy, Davido’s fan clash on X

Burna Boy resumed his feud with Davido on Tuesday during a heated war of words with fans of the ‘Timeless’ hitmaker on social media.

The drama started on Monday when one of Davido’s fans slammed Burna Boy for not winning any category at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Both singers recently faced disappointment at the award ceremony held last week.

Davido, a first-time Grammy nominee, was nominated in three categories. He, however, lost all of his nominations, while Burna Boy, who won a Grammy award in 2021, also lost his four nominations.

The fan called Burna Boy a “new cat”, and claimed that Davido is “bigger” than him.

Rather than attack the fan, Burna Boy decided to aim a dig at Davido, whose photo the critic used as his profile image.

A few hours later, another fan of Davido said Burna Boy ought to be grateful to the DMW head honcho who he claimed supported the self-proclaimed African Giant until he became famous in the music industry.

Sharing old tweets of Burna Boy hailing Davido, the user also expressed his hatred for the ‘Ye’ singer who he referred to as a “useless and arrogant boy“. 

“People wondering why I hate this useless boy @burnaboy when you keep hating on someone who gave you life when you were nobody,” the user wrote.

“This same you someone that should be grateful to @davido forever for turning his life around. Man supported you till you become someone in life, now that you are big, you feel he’s the same person you should joke with.

“Man knew what he was saying when he said you are a new cat, and he wasn’t kidding about it. It’s this ur arrogance that will finish you up, you allow Jews and In-jew wey no get life dey whine ur head make you dey against your brother all in name of stanship.

“You are a big shame to the whole NBM, where is the social equity and justice? Burnaboy you fell off so bad, I pray for your end soon if you no change your ways.”

Replying to the post, the Grammy-winning singer argued that Davido’s fans were telling “all sorts of lies” to suit the narratives of their principal.

Burna Boy also hurled abusive words at Davido.

“Na all these lies wey una dey tell una selves wey dey give una mind. All these corner bam Na Online una dey sha, yarn as you like. your Oga na pu**y. Fact na fact,” he wrote. 

Davido is however yet to jump on the heated argument.

Burna Boy and Davido — alongside Wizkid — are considered to be the biggest artistes in Nigeria in contemporary times.

Their fans have always been divided over who is superior.
