O6a, the fast-rising Afrobeats singer, is set to release his six-track debut extended play (EP) titled ‘Genesis’.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Firewood Records artiste, whose real name is Ariehwe Odafe Isaac, announced that the upcoming EP will be released in April.
Songs on the body of work include ‘Genesis’, ‘My Story’, ‘234 (Gbagbe)’, ‘Yes or No’, ‘Like That’, ‘Men’ and a bonus track.
In the statement, O6a described the EP as “something different and new”, adding that “this will announce me to what people will know me as”.
“I believe everything I do, everything this my career, its God putting the people there at that time in my life. So, the name Genesis, that’s the title of the upcoming EP, is something different, something new,” he said.
“Something from scratch, like I’m starting from the beginning. So, this is my debut. This will introduce me to what people will know me as. The kind of music I sing, how I sing, and the vibe I have, from this project. So, that’s why I gave the name Genesis.”
He also spoke on his desire to collaborate with other singers in the music space, especially BNXN.
“I don’t want to overstretch it. Some people will say Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy; yes I want to work with them. I know it can’t just happen just like that. But if I am chanced to work with somebody, it’s still going to be Buju (BNXN). I would love to work with Buju,” he said.
