Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, has celebrated Adeola Ogunwusi, his daughter, on her 30th birthday.
Adeola turned 30 on May 20. To celebrate her birthday, the monarch took to his Instagram to reflect on how he guided her through different stages of her life.
He also expressed pride in her independence at 30 and playfully nudged her towards finding a husband.
“When you turned 10, your father would talk to you about school and your future. At 20, he encouraged you to listen and understand the importance of morals and well-being, even as you sought independence,” he wrote.
“Now that you are 30, you are a grown woman. Your father senses that you no longer wish to be advised as independence has finally set in.
“I talked 10 to you and I got your subtle independence behaviour in return, I talked 20 to you and still got your near obvious independence behaviour in return. Now I’m talking 30 to a grown woman, so go and bring husband to daddy o”.

In 1994, as a teenager, Ooni fathered Adeola with Omolara Olatubosun in Ibadan.
The pair never got married.
In 2008, the traditional ruler married Adebukola Bombata, his first wife. But their union was dissolved in 2016.
Subsequent marriages to Zaynab Obanor (2017) and Morenike Naomi (2018) failed.
Ogunwusi then got married to six women in 2022.
In October 2023, the Ooni celebrated his first anniversary with Tobi Philips, believed to be the third of his current wives.
