Naira Marley, the Nigerian singer, has taken to social media to emphasise the importance of forgiveness, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a post shared via X on Saturday, Marley highlighted that Islam emphasizes forgiveness, making it a “perfect religion”.

The singer also acknowledged that while the Islamic religion is “perfect and infallible,” its practitioners are “fallible and make mistakes.”

The ‘Chi Chi’ hitmaker urged his followers to separate their criticism of him from his faith.

“Islam is perfect, Muslims are not. If I make mistake, blame me, but not my religion,” he wrote.

Marley has been subjected to public criticism since the death of Mohbad, his former label signee.

However, last month, a magistrate court in Yaba dismissed charges against him, Sammy Larry, and Prime Boy over their alleged involvement in Mohbad’s death.

The Lagos DPP announced that it would prosecute Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad, and Ayobami Sadiq, one of the singer’s friends, for reckless and negligent acts.

Addressing Mohbad’s death, Marley claimed witnesses betrayed him. The Marlian Music CEO also alleged that he had made peace with Mohbad before his death and they understood each other beyond their past misunderstandings.
