Blackface, a Nigerian singer, has slammed Wizkid over the latter’s remarks about the alleged killings and brutality of citizens by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

There have been renewed calls for proscription of the police unit on social media platforms following recent cases of extrajudicial killings orchestrated by its operatives.

Using the hashtags #EndSARS and #WarOnSARS, several Nigerians had urged the federal government to overhaul the police unit, while some demanded that it should be completely scrapped.

Joining the fray, Wizkid had in series of tweets slammed President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday.

His comment had come after Buhari sent a “get well soon” message to Donald Trump, US president, who earlier contracted COVID-19 alongside Melania, his wife.

“Donald Trump is not your business! Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something! Nothing concern u for America! Face your country!!,” Wizkid had written.

But in his response, Blackface, whose real name is Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, took a swipe at Wizkid for delving into politics when he should be busy with his music career.

“Why don’t you face your music small man? I understand why that is difficult, because it doesn’t have any substance #ChildrenOfNowAdays,” he wrote on Twitter.

The singer questioned Wizkid’s rationality for insulting Buhari. He also wondered if he was indeed the person who created the now-viral tweets.

“No be every verified account the person name on top dey control So it is possible that that @wizkidayo account is being handled by an agent because I don’t believe Wizkid is that dumb to insult his father or his father’s mate,” he added.
