Like many around the globe, Nigerians were curious about the state of the newborns who were reportedly born premature and are still being treated for jaundice.

London fire

At least 79 people are presumed dead in the fire that razed the 24-story Grenfell Tower in London on Wednesday, June 14.

Stuart Cundy, the Metropolitan police commander, on Monday, said that only five victims have been formally identified so far and that the death toll may change.

Google search terms about the incident included ‘london tower fire’, and ‘London tower fire outbreak’.

Wife of kidnap kingpin, Evans, speaks

Wife of Chukwudubem Onwuamadike aka Evans appealed to Nigerian authorities to spare the life of her husband. Her husband was arrested last week after seven years of abducting people for ransom.

Evans has since confessed to a number of high-profile kidnap cases and has admitted that he made billions from his activities.

Confederation Cup

The Confederations Cup being hosted by Russia is the latest football spectacle that has seized the attention of Nigerians.

The eight-team tournament is held the year before each World Cup to give the host country an opportunity to test their facilities ahead of the main event.

Prodigy, rapper, dies at 42

Prodigy, Mobb Deep rapper, died earlier this week after being hospitalised following a sickle cell anaemia crisis. Prodigy was one-half of the American rap group Mobb Deep.

His publicist confirmed his death on Tuesday, June 20, just days after a performance in Las Vegas.
