Adebayo Adeleke, the Nigerian singer fondly called B-Red, has recounted how Burna Boy “chased after Davido’s car” the first day they met him in Port Harcourt.
B-Red is the son of Ademola Adeleke, the Osun state governor. He is also the cousin to Davido, the Afrobeats star.
In a chat with Quincy Jonze on the Echo Room podcast, B-Red claimed a lot of the current prominent Nigerian artistes “looked up to me before they became famous”.
He also recalled how he met Burna Boy for the first time in the Rivers state capital.
B-Red said the day he met the self-proclaimed African Giant, “Burna Boy was running after me and David’s car”.
He claimed Burna Boy kept expressing admiration for him and Davido
“All these boys you are talking about, weren’t these boys looking up to me before they blow? The first day I met Burna Boy it was in Port Harcourt. He was running after me and David’s car ‘Oh my God I love you B-Red. I love you Davido’,” he said.
“So anybody can blow. I got no hate for anybody.”
B-Red’s comment came after Davido’s remark on Burna Boy as an Afrobeats ‘new cat’.
The ‘OBO’ hitmaker earlier argued that he and Wizkid were the first Nigerian artistes to place Afrobeats on the global map.
