Azuh Arinze, the Nigerian journalist and author, is set to launch ‘A Taste of Success’ and ‘Conversations with Showbiz Stars’, his latest books, on March 24.
In a statement sent to TheCable Lifestyle on Friday, Arinze said the public presentation of the books would hold alongside an event commemorating his 50th birthday at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Victoria Island, Lagos state.
According to him, ‘A Taste of Success’ focuses on entrepreneurship and top figures who have achieved milestones in their respective fields.
Arinze said those mentioned in the 299-page book include Segun Osoba, ex-governor of Ogun state; Sam Ohuabunwa, Festus Keyamo, Babatunde Ogala, and Dele Momodu.
The author said his second book chronicles his encounter with 35 “leading lights” in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
These, according to him, include Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti, 2Baba, Onyeka Onwenu, Tiwa Savage, Lagbaja, Wasiu Ayinde, RMD, Pete Edochie, and Funke Akindele.
He said Osoba would serve as the event’s chairman while special guests of honour include Onwenu and Dakuku Peterside, former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
“Both books can be summed up as mini biographies of 60 Nigerians who have excelled in their different fields. Without holding back anything, they shared with me how they embarked on their ‘success journey’, how they eventually attained success and above all, how they have been sustaining that success,” the statement read.
“The interviewees cut across, which means that no matter where you play or intend to get into, there are people who have excelled there already and whom we got to share the stories of how they did it…there’s so much to be learnt from the books by anyone willing to read, learn and succeed.”
Arinze is the publisher of Yes International! magazine and a popular figure in the Nigerian media landscape.
