Nigerians on Twitter are yet again livid – over Kemen’s alleged inappropriate fondling of TBoss on the Big Brother Naija show.
One week after the show ended and several weeks after the incident occurred, many still feel strongly about it.
The emotions were Sunday night evoked at AY Live by the host himself, Ayo Makun.
The comedian made light of Kemen’s action and blamed it on being horny.
He urged Nigerians to forgive him, noting that many men in his position might have done the same.
The comedian’s comments, Kemen’s presence at the show and organisers of Big Brother Naija have been drawing the ire of Nigerians on Twitter for the past 20 hours.
Most of the stick was directed at Kemen and AY.
Kemen is a sexual predator.
All of this “it’s not rape, do you want him to commit suicide” rubbish is rubbish.
Don’t be alone with him— #NotInCourtRoom502 (@CheRox) April 17, 2017
AY is really daft for devoting a whole session of the show to justifying Kemen’s intentions. Trash. #aylive2017

Some are so concerned about how Kemen feels, how he has gone through enough. I just want you people to know you are wild animals
— THELMZKITCHEN (@thelmzkitchen) April 17, 2017
I believe that AY believes that Kemen did nothing wrong. That is the root issue. I also believe Kemen believes the same
— Ziggy (@flowwriter360) April 17, 2017
@SASSIMEBIO Shikena! That is the definition of rape, sexual violation to assert power and without consent that is what KEmen is!

To men like Kemen, a smile is consent. Going on a date is consent. Being topless is consent. Being semi conscious in a space is consent
— ABIODUN KUFORIJI NKW (@SASSIMEBIO) April 17, 2017
And people say because there wasn’t penile penetration it was not an assault. I am upset and I stand solidly with Tboss. Kemen is vile
— ABIODUN KUFORIJI NKW (@SASSIMEBIO) April 17, 2017
What AY did with regards to TBoss & Kemen was in very poor taste, if I were TBoss I would have put him in his place, TBoss tried aswear…
— BüsBüs §ignatures (@MsBusBus) April 17, 2017
In the midst of the furore, a vital question was asked.
I’d like to know why the organizers of BBNaija and sponsors still associated with Kemen after disqualifying him.
— Osagie Alonge (@OsaGz) April 17, 2017
But many insist that Kemen should be forgiven and allowed to move on, having apologised.
#Aylive2017 first off #TBoss was not drunk or anything nd she already knew d kinda person #kemen wz. Y sleep beside him. I jst dont get it
— 👑 Jummie (@jummie__x) April 17, 2017
I sure never liked Kemen, but some of you are very mad to think an apology isn’t enough tbh
— Mz Ansa Lauren (@ansapurple) April 17, 2017
The way people are just attacking kemen sef, na wah o.. Shey Any of them never touch booby or nyash before???
— Doctor_Strange (@Clivekonstantin) April 17, 2017
Kemen was of bad behavior & was punished. He isn’t a rapist, he didn’t rape anyone. That tag is libel. If he sues, you will pay like an ATM.
— Isima (@IsimaOdeh) April 17, 2017
Kemen has apologized,is that not enough? You people should let the man breathe.
On twitter, everyone is an Angel, till we open their files😊
— Otunba RainMaker Ken (@kenifeanyii) April 17, 2017
You people are overdoing it as regards Kemen. He got disqualified and apologized for his conduct.Do u want his head on the platter? Move on

Some were just out to make light of the matter.
You attend COZA, yet want to attack Kemen? pic.twitter.com/BTSi6EeDD2

Actress Adesua Etomi and television personality Bolanle Olukanni had a lot to say.
I’m puzzled at the women who keep saying stop talking bout the Kemen & Tboss issue. It’s not an “issue”
— Bolanle Olukanni (@bolanleolukanni) April 17, 2017
Kemen sexually violated Tboss. He did something that in any other country he would have already been arrested for !!!
— Bolanle Olukanni (@bolanleolukanni) April 17, 2017
As women there should be more solidarity. Rape Culture is the grounds that Rape continues to thrive.
— Bolanle Olukanni (@bolanleolukanni) April 17, 2017
I can’t for the life of me understand what AY was talking about saying he didn’t kill someone . Does he know what Kemens actions have done.
— Bolanle Olukanni (@bolanleolukanni) April 17, 2017
If we perpetuate this notion that sexual violators should not be punished people will think that the act is not as severe as it really is.
— Bolanle Olukanni (@bolanleolukanni) April 17, 2017
Someone Needs To Check On Tboss To Make Sure She’s Actually Ok.
She Smiles…Yes.
…But Is She Ok?
Is Her Mind Ok?
Is Her Heart Ok?😔— Adesua Etomi (@AdesuaEtomi) April 17, 2017
People Commit Suicide Everyday.
We Say ‘Let’s check on the troubled’
But Alas, If It’s Not Someone That’s Generally Liked ‘Who Cares’ 👏— Adesua Etomi (@AdesuaEtomi) April 17, 2017

Even celebrity on-air-personalities, Dotun and Gbemi Olateru, got involved.
The other housemates should take a stand and refuse to be in pictures or attend events with him at least for now .
— Gbemi O-O (@GbemiOO) April 17, 2017
Hypocrites be aware that there isn’t any clamored esteem in bringing someone down for the fun of it. We all need to check ourselves too
— Dotuncoolfm (@iamDo2dtun) April 17, 2017
Kemen! please play the silence game. You can never justify that sort of act. Ordinarily in a developed country, he might go to jail but…
— Dotuncoolfm (@iamDo2dtun) April 17, 2017
T boss is constantly a subject of ridicule & it’s sad. For me, it’s her preference to forgive or press charges. In absence of any, then…
— Dotuncoolfm (@iamDo2dtun) April 17, 2017
We are all petty for the wrong reasons & get over excited once we can latch on to someone’s mistakes forgetting, we are all the same.

The debate rages on.

Mr. Christhova, I appreciate your emotional pain. Not many men will enjoy seeing their sister’s tantalizing breasts being fondled-even if the fondling is done by her husband. There is a level of inexplicable revulsion that goes with the sight. But please leave AY out of this. In law, we say “Volenti non fit injuria”. Your sister consented to it by her presence in the Big Brother show. When she joined the Big Brother program, what and who was she expecting to see? Pastors? Imams? Professors? Lawyers? Doctors? Did she believe that the housemates will be singing hymns of praise and worship and quoting the Bible? Or did she believe that she will find Imams dutifully reciting the Holy Qur’an? When you don’t complain about her stripping herself naked, I find it exceedingly puzzling that you are venting your misplaced anger at AY for preaching forgiveness for Kemen. Even convicted felons sometimes get pardoned by the state! Don’t get me wrong, I do not endorse any woman’s breasts being fondled without her consent. But then, I also frown at any woman who unabashedly exposes herself to situations where the fondling of her breasts could only become a natural consequence. You cannot eat your cake and have it. I am not a thief but don’t starve me for 5 days and then give me a pot of fried rice, plantain and chicken to secure for you. The outcome may not respect the ten commandments. Chikena!
