Nigerian music sensation Asake has left fans confused and shocked after suddenly changing his Instagram profile.

On Wednesday, the Grammy-nominated artiste took to Instagram to remove YBNL, his record label, from his bio and add “creative director”.

The 29-year-old singer also unfollowed everyone on the platform — although the label still has him on its following list.

Asake is among the six users followed by YBNL

The move has ignited speculation about Asake’s relationship with YBNL, which has been his home since 2022. Fueling the flame is Asake’s noticeable absence from the Flytime Festival 2024, where Olamide headlined the event.

The festival became a mini-YBNL reunion, with former signees like Chinko Ekun, Young Jonn, and Viktoh taking the stage alongside Olamide.

Asake’s fans are taking to social media to share their theories about his mysterious move and asking if there was trouble between him and his label boss Olamide.

While some argue his contract with YBNL might have expired, others imply he might be going through a personal crisis.

He has released three studio albums, ‘Mr Money With The Vibes’ (2022),  ‘Work of Art’ (2023) and ‘Lungu Boy’ (2024).

Asake has also received a plethora of awards and nominations for his talent.
