Tony Muonagor, another cousin of Amaechi, earlier disclosed that the actor battled with kidney disease, diabetes, and stroke.

He said the actor’s condition deteriorated, requiring weekly dialysis and physiotherapy at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) in Nnewi, Anambra.

After his youth service in 1989, Amaechi started working for the News Agency of Nigeria.
