Four Nigerian films were nominated in the best film category.
‘Isoken’, ‘In My Country’, ‘Cross Roads’, and ‘Hotel Called Memory’ will be up against films from South Africa, Algeria, Ghana, and Malawi for the best film award.
Nigeria took up half of the pie for the best animation award with two out of the four films nominated. South Africa and Ghana trail behind with one nomination each.
In the same vein, three Nigerians have been nominated for best first feature film by a director. Jade Isiburu for ‘Isoken’, BB Sasore for ‘Banana Island Ghost’, and Onyeka Nwelue for ‘Ogwuetiti Obiuto’.
