Folarin Alakija, son of Folorunsho Alakija, on Saturday, married Naganin Khosro, the daughter of an Iran-based businessman, in an extravagant ceremony.
Alakija is the richest black woman on earth – hence the wedding of her son was bound to be grand.
The lavish wedding is estimated to have cost around £5m, according to Daily Mail.
The ceremony took place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.
Hiring the palace and staterooms reportedly gulped £33,000.
The venue, which is the ancestral home of Winston Churchill, former prime minister of the United Kingdom, was adorned with hundreds of roses.
Jeff Leatham, who has done work for the Kardashians, Madonna, Oprah and Tina Turner, was responsible for the flowers.
Leatham is said to command as high as £250,000 per job.
The eight-tier wedding cake reportedly cost £2,400 while the three-course meals start at £52 per head.
US singer Robin Thicke performed at the wedding. The ‘Blurred Lines’ singer is said to charge an estimated £150,000 for such events.
The bespoke marquee and marble floor, as well as the wedding production, was costed at £200,000.
Khosro and Folarin got engaged last year and had their traditional wedding in Lagos on November 19.
The wedding took place at the Grand Ballroom of Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
Khosro, who studied bioengineering and biomedical engineering at the University of Manchester, has a graduate diploma in law and has also worked as a model and marketing consultant.
She dated Rob Kardashian in 2013 before meeting Folarin, whose first wife died a few years ago.
