Sarz, Nigerian record producer and musician, has released his latest electronic play (EP) titled ‘Sarz is Not Your Mate’.
According to the songmaker, the time he took off social media to curb his addiction made him productive and allowed HIM to come up with the playlist within the space of two weeks.
The six-track EP is a fusion of different sounds.
“First of all, this isn’t an album. This project is something I’ve always wanted to do cos I wanted to push new ideas in this scene,” he wrote.
“Before this project, I noticed I was addicted to social media. It was REALLLLYYY bad! You couldn’t separate me from my phone and most of my days were unproductive (to me atleast). I decided to do something about it and I went off social media for months ( best decision ever) and I made this project in 2 weeks.
“This is something I wouldn’t have been able to do if I was active on social media because all it takes is one notification and my creative process is gone.
“I’m sharing this cos I know someone is probably going through this right now and I want you to know you can really do anything if you put your mind to it. You have everything it takes within you.”
Sarz has worked with the likes of Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Chris Brown.
