The organisers of the Afro-Gene talent show have announced that the second edition of the competition will be held in Canada on June 30.

The annual contest, which will take place at the Papermill Theater, celebrates Africa’s rich diversity and exceptional talent in Canada.

It also discovers the brightest stars across various artistic disciplines, including music, comedy, dance, spoken word, and more.

In a statement, Fusi Hype, the show’s founder, said their mission is to unearth extraordinary talent and provide a platform for them.

“We are thrilled to announce the return of the Afro-Gene Talent Show for its second edition. Our mission is to unearth extraordinary talent and provide a platform that celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of African culture,” he said.

“Supported by prestigious brands like African  Music Week, African Fashion Week, Skcooks and Eagle Tracker (the home of Nigeria Football) this season, we look forward to discovering new stars who will inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.”

For this year’s edition, the contestants will battle for the grand prize of $1000, other substantial prizes, and career opportunities.

The Afro-Gene talent show will be hosted by JayKayKenny, the social media personality, and Comedian Ebiye. The judges include Ada Ohh, Emmanuel Owoniyi, Blessed Akinlabi, and Bibi Sonye. 

The first edition was held on May 7, 2023.
