Adekunle Gold to Olamide: Thanks for allowing me to design the YBNL logo

Adekunle Gold, the Nigerian singer, has appreciated Olamide, the rapper, for accepting him into the YBNL music label. 

Olamide launched the music label in 2012 after releasing ‘YBNL’, his second studio album.

Adekunle Gold, on the other hand, had his first music hit with ‘Sade’, a song released in 2015, and a high-life cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’.

He was signed to YBNL in the same year and then delivered his first album titled ‘Gold’. He later exited the record label after his contract had expired.

Sharing a cover of his debut album on X, Adekunle showered encomium on Olamide for his role in his career growth.

The ‘Ogaranya’ hitmaker revealed that he designed the YBNL logo. He also thanked the rapper for seeing beyond his skills as a graphic designer and allowing him to join the label.

“Thank you @olamide for giving that young graphic designer the chance to not only design the YBNL logo but to be a part of your family,” he wrote.

Responding to the tweet, Olamide wrote: “Fam for life 🙏🏾❤️.”

Adekunle has released five albums namely: ‘Gold’ (2016), ‘About 30’ (2018), ‘Afropop’ (2020), ‘Catch Me If You Can’ (2022), and ‘Tequila Ever After‘ (2023).

Last month, ‘Falling Up’, a song off his latest album, served as the closing ceremony anthem during the Louis Vuitton show at the Paris Fashion Week.

Olamide, on the other hand, said he founded YBNL to avoid extravagant spending.

Last year, the rapper hinted that ‘Unruly’, his 10th music album, might be his last project. But in June 2024, he put out an EP featuring his YBNL signees.
