A chief magistrate court sitting in Abuja has summoned Okafor Victor, the rapper better known as Mr Real, over alleged criminal defamation of D’banj.
In a court summons dated December 18, 2025 and seen by TheCable Lifestyle, Farida Ibrahim, the chief magistrate, ordered Mr Real to appear in person before the court on January 19, 2026, to answer charges levelled against him by the complainant.
The case followed claims by Mr Real in November that D’banj, born Oladapo Oyebanjo, failed to honour a N20 million ambassadorial deal.
In a petition filed before the court, Pelumi Olajengbesi, counsel to D’banj, urged the magistrate to issue a criminal summons against Mr Real.
He also asked the court to restrain the rapper and anyone acting on his behalf from making or circulating further statements or publications deemed defamatory against the singer pending the determination of the complaint.
“An order of interim injunction restraining the defendant, either by himself, his servants, privies, cohorts, representatives or any person deriving authority from the Defendant from further making, publishing, disseminating, broadcasting, or in any way circulating any defamatory videos, comments, statements, words or publications with respect to the Complainant/Applicant pending the determination of the Direct Criminal Complaint,” Olajengbesi said.
