Kcee has broken his silence on the long-simmering rift with his colleague Flavour N’abania.
In a recent interview on Yanga FM, Kcee attributed the tension to professional jealousy sparked by his own unexpected career growth.
The ‘Ojapiano’ hitmaker recalled how music executive Soso Soberekon once brought Flavour to him with a proposal for him to sign the budding artiste.
Kcee said he refused to sign him then because he didn’t know Flavour will become successful.
“(Flavour) was introduced to me for me to sign. Soso brought him to me to sign. I have been driving Hummer, Navigator at the time. I have been living large before he was brought to me. I was a big boy,” he added.
“Soso Soberekan brought him, and I said I will not sign. I did not see the future at that point. Not that I did not want to do it. I would have loved to.
“I believe time will tell. I am an OG now. I am not afraid to say anything to anyone. God shows mercy to those who have a good heart.”
The feud came to a head last year when Flavour made thinly veiled comments accusing Kcee of copying his musical style — a style deeply rooted in Igbo culture.
Kcee responded indirectly but firmly, asserting that no one holds exclusive rights to celebrating Igbo heritage.
