A court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to Sammy Ojeogwu, the brother of actress Regina Daniel, following days in detention.

Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos last week and was subsequently transferred to Abuja to face investigation concerning a series of allegations, including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.

According to Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, Ojeogwu was accused alongside three other suspects, and his arrest came after he allegedly ignored several invitations for questioning.

The arrest is the latest development in the ongoing and very public marital crisis between Regina and her husband Ned Nwoko.

The conflict first escalated in October when a viral video showed the actress in tears, accusing the senator of domestic violence.

In response, Nwoko publicly alleged that his wife was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

The situation took another dramatic turn on Sunday when the actress admitted to using hard drugs, but she turned the accusation back on her husband, suggesting his involvement.

Daniels’ family had previously accused Nwoko of orchestrating Sammy’s arrest, a claim that drew attention from within the Nollywood community.

Fellow actress Mercy Johnson publicly questioned the legality of the arrest and called for Ojeogwu’s release.

The bail breakthrough came on Monday, when actress Doris Ogala shared a video on her Instagram page showing the Daniels family, including Regina’s mother Rita and Mercy, leaving the court premises after the hearing.

Ogala expressed gratitude to the legal team that represented the family.

While Sammy has been granted a N5 million bail, the other conditions set by the court have not yet been made public.

He had been remanded in Keffi prison by a Dutse magistrate court on Thursday and was later transferred to Suleja prison.
