As night falls, Shakara Afterdark will take over, a series of exclusive parties in collaboration with some of Lagos’ most popular rave brands, keeping the energy alive till dawn.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the festival, Godson Oriaku, the founder, said Shakara was created to celebrate authentic African expression and unite diverse sounds and people in one grand musical experience.
”We wanted to build something that was truly groundbreaking for the Nigerian music scene,” he said.
“Shakara is about authentic expression and creating a space where different sounds and people can connect. From soul and gospel to the grittiest Alté, we are unifying Africa’s diverse musical landscape in one massive celebration.”
Abiola Francesca Dacosta-Ajayi, the co-founder, described the festival as a “gift to Lagos”, adding that it serves as a “world-class platform to celebrate African richness”.
”Shakara Festival is more than just a music event; it’s a pioneering movement,” she said.
“We are creating a world-class platform to celebrate the richness of our culture and the incredible talent that Africa possesses. This festival is our gift to Lagos and a bold statement to the world about the power and influence of our creative spirit.”
