The incident, which occurred on October 28, 2025, involved a violent altercation between Courage and Mary Chizzy Eze, the head of makeup.

A video from the set shows the two engaged in a physical fight as several people attempted to intervene.

According to a statement from the Nigeria Film Crew Community (NFCC), the assault took place after Mary protested the “inhumane accommodation conditions provided by the production,” which allegedly housed 15 female crew members in a single room.

The statement claimed Courage hit and strangled Mary for speaking out against the ill-treatment.

The community added that following the incident, Courage was arrested while Mary received medical attention.

“On the 28th of October, 2025, on the set of Caddilly Production’s “Lagos to Opulence” a production manager named ANIEROBI COURAGE A.K.A. NWA SOUTH, physically and violently assaulted the head of makeup, Mary Chizzy Eze, on set,” the statement reads.

“The production manager violently hit and strangled the makeup H.O.D. for speaking up against ill and unequal treatment among the crew as shown in the video evidence we received. He has now been arrested while the makeup artist has recieved medical care.”

The NFCC condemned what it described as Courage’s “violent and animalistic behaviour”. It urged filmmakers and producers to blacklist and suspend all work with him for a period of six months while the Nigerian Police Force conducts its investigation.

“As a community, we strongly condemn this violent and animalistic behaviour, the inhumane accommodation conditions on the same set, where 15 female crew members were lodged in one room,” it added.

“This level of disregard for human dignity is unacceptable. We stand firmly against all forms of abuse, assault and crew maltreatment.

“We call on industry stakeholders, all producers, that this Production Manager be blacklisted across all productions.

“While investigations are ongoing with the Nigerian Police Force, we strongly advise industry producers and production companies to suspend any form of engagement with ‘Nwa South’ for a period of six months (6 months).

“This 6-month ban recommendation is intended as a measure of accountability and a reminder that abusive conduct carries consequences, while reinforcing our collective commitment to maintaining safe and respectful production environments.

“NFCC expects all stakeholders to uphold this standard and will continue to call for accountability and professionalism across the industry.

“We also call on relevant authorities to please join their voices with ours to call out and condemn this animalistic behaviour that “Nwa South” has displayed and ensure justice is served for the victim.”
