Mr Eazi, the Nigerian singer, has declared his intention to run for presidency of any African country willing to have him.

The artiste, best known for hits like ‘Leg Over,’ announced his unconventional political ambition in a now-viral video first posted to his Snapchat account.

He stated that the decision was the result of deep reflection and extensive discussions.

Mr Eazi argued that many African countries are in dire need of a new kind of leadership: one that is young, visionary, and selfless. He confidently positioned himself as the ideal candidate to meet this need.

“I have thought about this really deeply and I do not take it lightly. After thinking and deliberating about it, I think it is time to share it with you guys. Some of you might be from some countries specifically in Africa and you are looking for a president,” he said.

“You are for a young president, a president that is not looking for money, power, that is forward thinking, active and can move the country better.

“I am just officially putting myself for presidency of whatever country. So if you know that your country needs me, put the flag of the country underneath and I and my team will contact you.”

Given the informal and broad nature of the announcement, it remains unclear whether the singer was being sincere or making a satirical comment on the state of African politics.

Mr Eazi, who rose to fame with his 2015 single ‘Holl Up,’ is credited as the pioneer of Banku Music.

He has expanded his ventures, including founding the pan-African music collective Choplife Soundsystem.

His recent multimillion-dollar wedding to Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, across three countries, further cemented his status as a leading figure in both the music and business worlds.
